Shaykh Munsif Mubarak is a registered psychotherapist and accomplished Islamic scholar. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and spent seven years studying the Islamic sciences at Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah, where he earned an Associate degree in Arabic Language and a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Arabic Literature and Linguistics from the Islamic University of Medina. He completed his Master of Pastoral Studies with certification in spiritual care and psychotherapy at the University of Toronto. A hafidh of the Holy Qur'an and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, Shaykh Munsif specializes in anxiety, depression, spiritual development, grief, addictions, family conflict, and men's issues.
Dr. Mohsin Khan is a Pakistani-American neurologist and sleep specialist based in Illinois. A founding board member of Khalil Center National, he organized early finances and secured the seed loans that helped launch the organization. Dr. Mohsin later founded Khalil Center Rockford, driven by a deep commitment to making faith-integrated mental health services accessible in the community. He is the creator of AdventureMaktab, an innovative maktab education system using a karate-belt progression model with parent feedback loops -- now being replicated by communities across the US. Dr. Mohsin holds the Series 65 designation and is passionate about developing a parenting coaching program through the center.
Muhammad Umar Mustafa is a classically trained scholar of the Arabic and Islamic sciences with studies at Darul Uloom al-Madania, Darussalam Seminary, and the Institute of Islamic Education in Elgin, Illinois. In 2022, he received ijazah from Shaykh Abdul-Hayy Habbal to teach the Arabic sciences and holds a shahada in the ten Qira'at of the Qur'an from Dr. Fawqi Jawadah al-Azhari. A Series 65-licensed fiduciary, Umar bridges deep traditional scholarship with advanced technical expertise in fintech, AI, and systems development -- uniting sacred knowledge with modern innovation to serve the community.
Hisham Ahmad is a pre-medical professional and Project Development Lead at Khalil Center Rockford with a strong foundation in health research and community service. He earned his Psychology degree from Northwestern University and gained hands-on clinical exposure through a pre-med internship at Northwestern Medicine. Hisham then spent nearly two years as a Health Services Research Specialist at the Wisconsin Surgical Outcomes Research Program (WiSOR), contributing to data-driven outcomes research. With additional experience tutoring across a wide range of subjects at Rock Valley College and a background in member-facing customer service, Hisham brings both analytical rigor and strong interpersonal skills to his work. Rooted in Rockford, Illinois, he is committed to serving his community while pursuing a career in medicine.
